Chris' hair to be an inspiration in the future...

mr morfachoo is ur long hair good luck and did it inspiere u to wright.. Amy

Hey Amy,

My long hair hasn’t been very inspirational so far, but it might inspire me to write something one day. Maybe a book about lions?

Chris

Singapore?

When the book come in Singapore? I’m so anxious to find out what happen next... Kamal

Hey Kamal,

The Phoenix Files: Mutation will be out in August in Australia and New Zealand, but I’m not sure about Singapore – you’d have to ask whoever you got the first two books from.

If all else fails, you could always order the third book from Australia!

Chris

Mutation coming in August..

What’s next after Contact. How long do I have to wait? How many will there be! Cate

How many more Phoenix Files books are there going to be? Luke

Hey Luke and Cate,

The third Phoenix Files book is called Mutation and it’s coming out in August. There’ll be three more after that – six altogether!

Chris

How many books?

Hi Chris,

My 9yo daughter and I are fighting over who will read book no. 2 first, we both loved the first one. My question is, how many books do you have planned for the series?

Thanks again for a great read. Leanne

Hi Leanne,

There will be six Phoenix Files books altogether.

Thanks for reading – I hope Contact turns out to be worth fighting over!

Chris

HURRY UP WITH MUTATION!

Hi Chris thanks for a great series of books. I bought Phoenix Files Contact last night and finished it this morning after breakfast. Please finish writing the next book and publish it early. I cant wait seven months!!!!! Marlon

Hey Marlon,

I’m working as fast as I can on Mutation, but I don’t want to rush it either. I want the book to be the best it can be before it finally gets to you! Less than five months to go now!

Reading between the lines

Hey Chris

our teacher is always telling us to read between the lines so I was wondering how you got the idea of this story? Did you earlier life influence it?

Isabella

Hi Isabella,

I’m happy to say that nothing as weird or dangerous as the Phoenix Files story ever happened to me in my earlier life! But some of my ideas for the series have been influenced by real-life experiences.

Some of the people in Phoenix are a bit like real people I’ve met (although none of them are directly based on any one person).

Same with some of the places – when I was coming up Phoenix High, I basically just took bits of my old high school and bits of other schools where I’ve worked as a teacher, and mixed them all together.

Even the books I’ve read (and the movies and TV shows I’ve watched) have been influential, because they’ve helped me learn how to write a story that makes sense and is (hopefully) fun and interesting.
